More than 400 Moscow students of 8–11 grades became winners of the competition for schoolchildren in genetics which were held remotely from June 18 to 26. About 4,000 children from 69 Russian regions took part in the competitions, the official website of the Moscow Mayor reports.
It is noted that the competition this year was held for the first time. Next year it is planned to keep the online format for the qualifying round, and the final one will be held in person. The tasks covered various fields of science, including virology, genetic engineering, and molecular genetics. Students had 4 hours to solve the tasks. It is specified that the winners will be awarded electronic diplomas.
