On September 19, in Berdsk, the “Cros-Country Run of the Nation 2020” took place. This is the first mass sports event in the city since the start of the pandemic. Due to safety restrictions, only adult athletes over 18 were allowed to start.
It is specified that 521 runners took part in the run, including athletes with disabilities. The event was organized in small parties in order to follow the anti-epidemiological measures. Men were the first to go to the start and ran a competitive race at a distance of 4,000 metres. Then women competed at their distance which was twice as short as the men’s one.
There was also a traditional mass run without taking into account the time, in which everyone took part. It is noted that a separate run was organized for athletes with disabilities and for representatives of the city’s sports community. In addition, fans of Scandinavian walking took the start on a separate track. All participants in the race received badges with the Cross of Nations logo and silicone bracelets.
