The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia continues to receive applications from Russian students who study abroad but want to return to their homeland and continue their studies in Russia. At the moment, more than 500 such applications have already been received, according to the head of the department Valery Falkov.
“The number of applications from students from abroad who would like to continue their studies in Russia is growing day by day. To date, there are more than 500 applications. For the entire higher school system […] it’s not much, but every student is valuable to us,” the Minister said at a meeting with rectors of Russian universities.
Falkov thanked the universities that agreed to accept such students. According to him, 85 people who transferred from abroad have already started studying at Russian leading universities.
Touching upon the issues of international cooperation against the background of Western sanctions due to the situation around Ukraine, the Minister urged Russian universities to “be above emotions and not fall for provocations.”
