On April 22, 2021, the 79th track and field athletics relay race will be held on Kremlevskaya Street in Kazan. The competition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s space flight is organized by the city’s Physical Culture and Sports Committee.
The participants will be gathered by 1 pm near the main building of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) and after that, they will be lined up for the parade, KazanFirst reports. The relay will start at 1.30 pm, after which the races will also begin. The winners will be awarded at the end of the competition in each of the groups.
It is specified that more than 600 people in 9 groups will take part in the races at different distances. These are the group of employees of regional administrations, schoolchildren, students of secondary schools, students of universities, working youth, veterans, hearing impaired, medical workers, and the KFU team.
