Over 9 Million Distance Lessons Conducted by Moscow Teachers During Quarantine

In Moscow, teachers taught more than 9 million distance learning lessons over a period of self-isolation that has been lasting already for 2,5 months, the official website of the Moscow Mayor reported.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova, over 50,000 Moscow teachers have given online lessons during this time. It is noted that their work made it possible to quickly rebuild the learning system in a new format.

“The main educational resource during distance learning was the Moscow Electronic School. The number of calls to the MES library over this period increased by 2.5 times, and the number of views of materials, almost 30 times (from 122 thousand to 3.8 million),” said Rakova.

It is specified that during the distance learning period, Zoom, Google.meet, Skype, Microsoft teams, Discord and others became the most popular platforms for communicating with students.
