More than one million people in Russia visited museums in the period from January 1 to 12, 2022. The most popular was the Tsarskoe Selo palace and park ensemble, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
“In total, 1,029,193 people visited museums subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of Russia in the period from January 1 to January 12, 2022. The leader in attendance was the State Art and Architectural Palace and Park Museum-Reserve “Tsarskoye Selo”, which was visited by more than 95 thousand people,” the department stated.
Also, a large number of guests were attracted by leading federal museums: more than 83 thousand people went to the State Tretyakov Gallery, more than 65 thousand visited the State Hermitage Museum, and more than 51 thousand decided to go to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
The leaders in the regions were the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-reserve, which was visited by more than 78 thousand people during the New Year holidays, and the Pavlovsk State Museum-Reserve, which received more than 58 thousand visitors.
In addition, the Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve (more than 35 thousand visitors), the Arkhangelsk State Museum of Wooden Architecture and Folk Art “Malye Korely” (more than 22 thousand), and the Pskov-Izborsk United Museum-Reserve (almost 20 thousand) also got to the list of the most visited ones in Russia during the specified period.
