Partial Mobilization in Russia Completed

Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, reported to the country’s President, Vladimir Putin, on the progress of partial mobilization.

“More than 1,300 representatives of executive authorities of various levels were called up and sent to the troops, more than 27 thousand entrepreneurs, 13 thousand citizens, without waiting to be called up, expressed a desire to fulfill their duty and were sent to the troops as volunteers. The average age of the mobilized citizens was 35 years,” he said.

Now, according to the Defence Minister, 218 thousand people are being trained; 82 thousand people already completed training and were sent to the area of a special military operation in Ukraine, of which more than 41 thousand are operating as part of units. Those who participate in combat operations will receive veteran status and an appropriate package of social benefits.

“The dispatch of citizens called up for mobilization was completed today. Notification of citizens has been stopped. The task you set — 300 thousand people — has been completed. No additional tasks are planned,” Shoigu stated.

As reminded, partial mobilization has been announced in Russia on September 21, 2022. As Shoigu explained, it was needed to control the contact line with a length of a thousand kilometers and the liberated territories in Ukraine. Then, 300 thousand people were subject to conscription, primarily those with combat experience and the necessary military accounting specialty.
