Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg served 18.1 million people in 2021, which is 65.4 per cent more than the same indicator in 2020, when, according to the Federal Agency for Air Transport, 10.9 million people were transported.

As reported, on domestic flights, 15.5 million passengers out of 18.1 million people were served, which is 28 per cent more than in 2019. The most popular destinations from January 1 to December 31, 2021, were Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Simferopol, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Arkhangelsk, Kazan, and Murmansk.
At the same time, the volume of traffic on international routes over the past year amounted to 2.5 million passengers, which is 66 per cent lower than in 2019. In the conditions of restrictions related to the pandemic, Antalya, Istanbul, Larnaca (Cyprus), Tashkent, Yerevan, Frankfurt am Main, Minsk, Helsinki, Osh (Kyrgyzstan) and Urgench (Uzbekistan) became the leaders among the destinations.
