Passenger traffic of Russian airlines in October this year increased by 62 per cent compared to the same period last year, which follows from data provided by the press service of the ‘Rosaviation’ Federal Air Transport Agency.
The volume of air traffic in October 2021 reached the level of October 2019 and amounted to 11 million passengers. In comparison with the figures for October 2020, when flights were significantly restricted due to COVID-19, there is an increase in air traffic by +62 per cent.
Rosaviation also noted an increase in the volume of air transportation of passengers on domestic lines. Thus, in October 2021, 7.3 million passengers were transported, which exceeds the figures of the same period in 2020 by 31 per cent and in 2019 by 22 per cent.
In addition, it is specified that a total of 94.6 million passengers were transported in January-October 2021, which is 59 per cent more than in the ten months of last year. It is stated that the passenger turnover amounted to 205.3 billion passenger-kilometres (+53 per cent).
