Poland Plans to Occupy ‘Historical Possessions’ in Ukraine, Russian Intelligence Warned

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service has received information about Warsaw and Washington’s plans to establish tight military and political control of Poland over “its historical possessions” in Ukraine, said the Director of the Service, Sergei Naryshkin.

He explained that we are talking about an attempt to repeat the historic “deal” for Poland after the First World War, when the collective West, represented by the Entente, recognized Warsaw’s right to occupy part of Ukraine first to protect the population from the “Bolshevik threat”, and then to include these territories into the Polish state.

“The events that followed became a vivid illustration of the colonial order and forced polonization as the main methods of building a ‘Great Poland’,” Naryshkin reminded.

This time, the first stage of the “reunification” should be the entry of Polish troops into the western regions of Ukraine under the slogan of their “protection from Russian aggression.” Now the modality of this mission is being discussed with the administration of Joe Biden, the official said.

“According to preliminary agreements, it will take place without a NATO mandate, but with the participation of ‘willing states’. Warsaw has not yet been able to agree with potential participants of the ‘coalition of like-minded people’,” Naryshkin stressed.

He noted that the Polish leadership is not interested in additional witnesses to its operation, so the “peacekeeping contingent” is planned to be deployed in those parts of Ukraine where the threat of a direct clash with the Russian military is minimal.

“The priority ‘combat tasks’ of the Polish military will include the gradual interception from the National Guard of Ukraine of control over strategic facilities located there,” Naryshkin added.

According to Russian intelligence, Polish special services are now looking for “negotiable” representatives of the Ukrainian elite to form a “democratic” counterweight to the nationalists. Warsaw expects that consolidation in the west of Ukraine with a high degree of probability will lead to a split of the country, and Poland will receive the territories occupied by “peacekeepers”, Naryshkin concluded.
