A portal for adoptive parents “My New Family” was launched in Moscow. With its help, Muscovites will be able to find information about orphans and learn how to adopt a child.
According to the Deputy Head of the Department of Labour and Social Protection of the Moscow Population, Ekaterina Berber, the portal collected all the information about children left without parental care, about the forms of adopting children, centres for promoting family education and social assistance to orphans, according to the official website of the Moscow Mayor. As the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova, said, today 20.1 thousand children live in Moscow without parental care, and 93.1 per cent of these young Muscovites have already been placed in foster families.
