A pilot project in the region to support people with mental disabilities will be launched in 2021 in Yakutsk and the Neryungrinsky district, TASS reports.
It is noted that in the village of Serebryany Bor in the Neryungrinsky district there is a specialized children’s home for social services, and transport accessibility is developed in the capital. It is specified that a total of 30 people will be covered as part of the project. Accompanied accommodation will be provided for 12 people in specially equipped flats, the remaining 18 will receive services at home at their place of residence.
At present, the state policy in the field of social services in the country and in the republic is aimed at the development of hospital-replacing technologies. The new project is aimed at changing approaches in this matter. The selection of people, staff training, and home improvement will begin in April 2021. The whole project will be developed by the ‘Association of Public Unions of Parents of Handicapped Children’ (GAOORDI) (St. Petersburg).
