Public Opinion: Muscovites Need More Shops, Pharmacies, and Recreation Areas

Shops, pharmacies, and recreational facilities are among the most sought-after elements of the Moscow urban environment, reports with reference to the results of a study conducted by the Research and Design Institute of Urban Planning in Moscow. 

According to the director of the institute, Dina Sattarova, among the elements of the urban environment, Moscow residents most of all need recreation areas (78 per cent of respondents), as well as sports, playgrounds, and specialized places for walking dogs. Shops and pharmacies located within walking distance are still popular among the service sector (93 per cent and 85 per cent of respondents respectively).
