The railway connection is planned to be launched between the Rostov region, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), according to the governor of the Russian region, Vasily Golubev, on the sidelines of the international industrial exhibition Innoprom.
“Obviously, it is planned [to launch a railway connection between the Rostov region, the DPR and the LPR]. Without this, it is hardly possible to solve [tasks] in terms of cargo supplies, and people will move. Absolutely, this is in the plans,” the agency interlocutor said.
The authorities of the Rostov region will assist everyone who will take part in this process, Golubev said.
“This is an essential element of the development and recovery of the economy, the restoration of infrastructure. And we assume that this is one of the principal tasks of the near future,” the head of the Rostov region added.
The Governor also expressed confidence in the resumption of bus service between the cities of the Rostov region, the DPR and the LPR.
