Thirty-six OneWeb communication satellites launched from the Russian ‘Baikonur’ cosmodrome into target orbits, as reported by the ‘Roscosmos’ State Space Corporation. This number of satellites was launched from Baikonur for the first time.

The Soyuz-2.1b rocket with the Fregat upper stage and 36 OneWeb spacecraft on board launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on December 27 at 7.10 pm Nur-Sultan time. By midnight, all 36 OneWeb communications satellites had successfully separated from the Fregat upper stage and entered target orbits. It is specified that currently, there are 394 satellites in orbit designed to provide broadband Internet access due to full coverage of the Earth’s surface.
