Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence to Be Created in Kazan Innopolis

Tatarstan IT University has been allocated a federal grant of 900 million rubles to create a research centre on artificial intelligence, where they plan to develop export-oriented platform solutions for business and priority sectors of the economy by 2024.

As reminded, Kazan Innopolis is the first Russian city for IT specialists that was officially opened on June 9, 2015. The development of the Innopolis master plan was led by the General Planner of the Singapore Redevelopment Department Liu Thai Ker. The University is the intellectual core of the new city where students receive higher IT education and participate in scientific research in this field.

As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Roman Shaikhutdinov, noted, the new centre will allow forming competencies in Innopolis “aimed at solving the problems of the real sector of the economy, strengthen the educational programmes of bachelor’s and master’s degrees and develop science”.

“It is important for Tatarstan that one of the six support centres for artificial intelligence will be created in our republic, on the territory of Innopolis, where this technology will be developed,” he added.
