Roskosmos Confirmed Russian Rocket Launch to ISS

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket, which will launch the Progress MS-16 transport and cargo vehicle into orbit is scheduled for February 15, 2021, from the Baikonur cosmodrome.

It is noted that specialists from RSC Energia and specialized enterprises of Roscosmos have already docked Progress MS-16 with the transition compartment of the third stage of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle. After the completion of the docking work, the specialists carried out test switching on of the onboard radio-technical complex and other service systems of the ship.

The spacecraft must deliver to the ISS 600 kg of fuel, 420 litres of drinking water from the Rodnik system, and 40.5 kg of compressed gases with additional nitrogen reserves, as well as about 1,400 kg of various equipment and materials, including the resource equipment of onboard control and life support systems, repair kit, packing for space experiments, medical control, sanitary and hygienic supplies, clothing items, standard food rations, and fresh food for the crew members.
