Running Festival With Half Marathon 2020 to Be Held in Siberia

The traditional Siberian running festival 2020 with a half marathon in memory of Alexander Raevich (a famous coach who trained many world-class athletes of the USSR team) will be held in Novosibirsk on September 12. Due to the spread of coronavirus infection, children were banned from running, and all the participants will only be allowed to take off their protective masks during the run, VN.ru reports.

It is specified that athletes at least 16 years old are allowed to participate in the half marathon. The main distance for the mass race for men and women 18 years and older is 3 km. Schoolchildren do not participate in competitions. All participants will need a health certificate with them, as well as a negative test for COVID-19. It is also noted that runners will be provided with isotonic water in disposable cups, and spectators will get masks and antiseptics.

The limit of participants is 1,500 people. At the moment, 800 people have already applied. To maintain social distance, all participants will be divided into clusters of no more than 100 people. The winners will receive a prize of 130,000 rubles. Another 20,000 can be given for an absolute victory, provided that the athlete meets the standards of the master of sports. In addition, participants will receive certificates from the partners of the festival, sets of prizes, and gifts. In total, there are 62 sets of prizes.
