Russia Сelebrated Navy Day in St. Petersburg [Video]

On July 25, 2021, the Main Naval Parade was held on Senate Square and in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg. The solemn event was hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, fontanka reports. 

The parade in honour of the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet began at 11 am. More than 50 ships, submarines and vessels took part in it. The air part was provided by 48 helicopters and aircraft.

According to RIA Novosti, for the sound accompaniment of the fireworks, 12 artillery pieces were installed in Petrovsky Park, 11 more at the southern wall of the Kronstadt Ust-Rogatka. Thanks to a special launch complex, the Russian national flag appeared in the sky over the city.

It is noted that parks and squares were closed that day so as not to provoke pandemonium, and in the city centre they even tried to restrict access to the Neva, but the desire of the citizens was so irresistible that the police decided to open the passage for them. Thus, the naval parade in St. Petersburg was attended by several thousand people.

To ensure law, 1.3 thousand employees and servicemen of the Rosgvardia were involved and more than 15 boats of the department controlled the restriction of movement in the water area of ​​the Neva during the parade.
