Russia and Belarus to Cancel Roaming by June 1

By June 1, it is planned to completely cancel roaming between Russia and Belarus, according to the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus Boris Gryzlov on April 1.

“In accordance with the decision of the Supreme State Council, it will be completely canceled by June 1,” Gryzlov said.

Thus, from April 1, the fee for incoming roaming calls in both countries will be canceled. The decision, which became the next stage of the cancellation of roaming, was adopted on March 23 at a meeting of the high-level group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.

According to Gryzlov, relations between Russia and Belarus in various spheres have reached an exemplary level of cooperation. He noted that the countries proceed from the fact that freedom of movement is required for economic development and maintaining humanitarian contacts. Gryzlov stressed that the Russian-Belarusian border is one of the few borders in the world that does not divide anyone.

As reminded, the restrictions on the movement of citizens within the Union State were lifted on March 17.
