Sri Lanka and Russia have agreed on cooperation in the fight against the financing of terrorism and the exchange of intelligence information about this issue, as stated by the Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa after the visit of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

As was reported earlier, Patrushev and Rajapaksa discussed in detail the state and prospects for the development of Russian-Lankan relations in the political, trade, economic and energy spheres, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of security.
Also, Patrushev took part in bilateral security consultations, during which the establishment of bilateral exchange of analytical materials on individuals and organizations involved in terrorist activities was discussed.
