Russia will sign an agreement with the United Arab Emirates on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The corresponding order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, was published on the official portal of legal information, TASS reports.
According to the order, the state corporation for space activities, Roskosmos, together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, was instructed to hold negotiations with the UAE side upon reaching an agreement on behalf of the government of the Russian Federation, allowing changes to be made to the attached draft that are not of a fundamental nature.
According to the draft agreement, the countries can cooperate in the field of space science, satellite communications, navigation, materials science, manned programmes, as well as spacecraft launches, space protection, orbital debris reduction and other issues. It is stated that the agreement will contribute to the development of friendly relations between states.
