Russia Created Working Group to Control Weapons Production

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, on Tuesday announced the creation of a working group at the Military-Industrial Commission of Russia to control the production of demanded weapons.

As reminded, earlier, on November 2, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said that weapons for the needs of the Russian Armed Forces should be improved continuously and remain effective at the same time.

On December 26, 2022, a decree was published according to which Putin appointed Medvedev a Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation.

“Within the framework of the powers that are now assigned to me, I signed an order on the creation of a working group of the commission for the control of the production of demanded samples of weapons, military, special equipment, weapons of destruction, combat equipment and personal belongings,” Medvedev announced.

He also expressed hope that the new structure will make it possible to implement “the planned plans and control measures more effectively, optimize the overall control system, improve coordination of efforts of authorities and organizations.” In addition, the official pointed out the inadmissibility of disrupting deadlines in the course of fulfilling the tasks of the state defense order.
