Taking into account the peculiarities of the spread of the omicron coronavirus strain, the federal consumer protection service (Rospotrebnadzor) recommended that the regions lift restrictions on the occupancy of cultural and catering institutions.

From now on, for trade organizations, catering, theatres, cinemas, concert halls, sanitary-resort organizations, beauty salons and hairdressers, it is recommended to maintain measures for disinfection of premises, wearing masks, as well as thermometry of visitors and employees. At the same time, there are no recommendations on the occupancy of halls and premises in the document.
In general, Rospotrebnadzor recommends that the regions keep only the mask regime in closed rooms and enhance disinfection.
“These recommendations relate to various sectors of the economy, are relevant to the current epidemiological situation, and have been prepared taking into account the opinions of scientists and the experience of other countries,” the document says.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said on March 1 that the share of the omicron strain among coronavirus cases in Russia exceeded 95 per cent. According to her, the incidence of coronavirus infection in the country decreased by 27.6 per cent, a decline was noted in 75 regions. The heads of the regional departments of Rospotrebnadzor were instructed to keep the fight against COVID-19 under control.
