Ukraine’s president, Vladimir Zelensky, asked Russia to sit at the negotiation table to stop the attack on Ukraine. Moscow will be ready to start negotiations after the Ukrainian military lays down their arms, replied to Zelensky Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.
“We are ready for negotiations at any moment, as soon as the Armed Forces of Ukraine respond to the call of our President, stop resisting, lay down their arms,” the Minister said.
He also assured that the Russian side is not going to oppress Ukrainian servicemen in any way. And certainly, Russia is not a threat to the Ukrainian civilian population. Ukraine’s soldiers however put their military vehicles inside of the residential areas and endanger their own people.
But even so, Russia is not going to destroy weaponry at the price of civilian people’s lives.
Earlier, the adviser to the office of the head of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, said that Kiev is ready to hold talks with Moscow on a neutral status, but requires security guarantees. The Kremlin drew attention to this initiative, considering that it indicates a movement towards the positive.
Prior to that, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that negotiations between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia could take place when Kiev is ready for them.
