In March 2021, the Russian Federation delivered to the United States a record over the past 12 years volume of oil and petroleum products, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the data provided by the Energy Information Administration of the US Department of Energy (EIA). Thus, the country rose to the second line in terms of exports in this direction.
It is specified that over this time period, the volume of imports of raw materials increased by 1.8 times compared to February, to 22.938 million barrels, the highest figure since July 2009, when Russia supplied 23.484 million barrels to the United States.
Canada took the leading position by supplying 139.869 million barrels of oil and oil products to the United States. In turn, Mexico lowered its position and dropped to the third place, having delivered 17.616 million barrels to the country. Saudi Arabia delivered 10.868 million barrels and ranks fourth.
It is noted that Russia ranks fourth in oil alone with deliveries to the United States of 6.1 million barrels (197 thousand barrels per day), which is 3.5 times more than in February. The first three places were taken by Canada, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, which sent 9.583 million barrels (309 thousand barrels per day) to the USA.
