Russia to Increase Budget-Funded Places in Universities in 2021

In 2021, there will be more budget-funded places in Russian universities, finanz.ru reports with reference to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. In total, 60 per cent of Russian school graduates got the opportunity to receive higher education at the expense of the state.   

According to Putin, the state will pay for another 33,000 places to study in higher educational institutions of the country. It is noted that the funds necessary for this should be provided in the budget.

It is specified that in 2020, 11.5 thousand budget places in higher educational institutions were additionally financed, and 9.5 thousand of them were received by universities and institutes in the regions where doctors, teachers, and other specialists are highly needed.
