Russia to Raise at UN Ukraine’s Preparations for ‘Dirty Bomb’ Use Issue

Russia will raise at one of the UN meetings the issue of creating and preparing by Ukraine for the use of dirty radioactive bombs in the ongoing military conflict, as stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We have taken the necessary steps to raise this issue in international structures, first of all in the UN in New York, and today our representatives will be engaged in this, counting on an interested and professional discussion of the problems that we will touch upon,” the Minister said.

Lavrov noted that the heads of the defense departments of France, Great Britain, and the US have already discussed with Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, the planned questions about the likely use of these weapons.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that the distrust of a number of Western countries and the US to the information provided by the Russian side that Ukraine plans to detonate a “dirty bomb” on its territory and blame Russia for this does not mean that there is no such threat.
