“We opened the Turkey-Russia Friendship Park, where the bust of Leo Tolstoy, the immortal name of world literature, is installed, in Muratpaşa, the heart of Antalya, the capital of tourism. Congratulations to our Muratpaşa,” is stated in the post of the Antalya Muratpaşa Belediyesi Twitter account.
As specified, Antalya is home to about 95,000 foreigners from 90 countries including around 20,000 Russians. That’s why it was important to pay tribute to the great culture of their country and make Turkey feel more like home to them.
It is reminded that the Leo Tolstoy bust was gifted to Muratpasa by the Russian Association of International Cooperation, the Turkish Friendship Association, and the Dialogue of Cultures – United World charity fund.
