Moscow hopes that the United States and Ukraine, the only countries that oppose the annual UN General Assembly resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism, will change their views, RIA Novosti reported.

It is noted that Russia submits a corresponding document every year. So, in December 2020, it was adopted by a majority of votes and only two states were against it, the United States and Ukraine.
The resolution recommends that countries take concrete measures, including in the legislative field, in line with their international human rights obligations, in order to prevent reconsideration of the outcome of World War II and denial of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during the Second World War.
The Russian authorities condemn incidents related to the glorification and propaganda of Nazism, in particular the application of graffiti and drawings of pro-Nazi content, including on monuments to the victims of World War II. The resolution also calls on states to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination, including by law.
