The Russian Minister of Sports, Oleg Matytsin, said that the country has an intention to hold another Olympic Games.
“Russia has plans to hold another Olympics, I always talk about it. We have a powerful sports power with a powerful infrastructure, with enormous experience in hosting major tournaments. Of course, we are interested — after a certain political solution. I do not rule out that Russia will still claim to host the Games,” Matytsin said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, said that Russia is considering holding the Summer Olympic Games on its territory in 2036. In 1980, Moscow hosted the Summer Olympics, and in 2014, Sochi hosted the Winter Olympics.
