Russian athlete, Anastasia Shevchenko, won a bronze medal in the super sprint at the second stage of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Cup, which takes place in Sjusjoen, Norway.
“I really want to go to the World Cup, because my debut there was at the end of the season, and I gave all my strength then […] I really want to get there. The main thing is not to worry and show your result, move and shoot, then everything will work out,” Anastasia says, as quoted by Sports.ru.
It is reported that the victory in the 7.5 km super sprint was won by Italian Linda Zingerle, who made two misses on four firing lines, with a result of 23 minutes 23.4 seconds. The second place was taken by Ukrainian Irina Petrenko (+0.8 seconds, one miss). In turn, Shevchenko, having made two mistakes, conceded 1.4 seconds to the winner.
Another representative of Russia, Natalia Gerbulova (+9.9 seconds, one miss), became the fifth and Evgenia Burtasova (+1.49,4 seconds, five misses) finished 25th.
