Russian athlete, Mikhail Astashov, won a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in cycling at a distance of 3,000 metres, Vedomosti reports with reference to the Russian Paralympic Committee.

It is specified that Astashov set a new world and Paralympic record for such a distance, 3 minutes 35.954 seconds. The athlete is already the champion of Russia and the winner of the World Cup in para-triathlon. Currently, including this victory, Russia has 6 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze medals, coming third after China (8-5-10) and the UK (6-8-3).
Interestingly, in February of this year, Astashov got a job at Yandex as a courier in its food delivery department in Yekaterinburg. At the moment he does not work there and says that this job was interesting to him only as a new experience, as he used prostheses when he was fulfiling orders.
