The Russians, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, became silver medalists of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing in the figure skating competition among dance couples. They earned 131.66 points for the free race on Monday, February 14. The overall score, taking into account the rhythm dance (88.85), was 220.51 points.

The gold medal was won by Frenchmen Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, who set a world record for the total points (226.98). The judges rated their free programme at 136.15 points, and the couple received 90.83 points for the rhythm dance, which is also now a world record. The bronze medal was won by Americans Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, who earned 218.02 (87.13 + 130.89) points.
Two more couples from Russia took part in the competition: Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin. They took sixth place with a score of 205.07 (84.09 + 120.98) points. Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin became the 14th with the result of 179.82 (71.66 + 108.16).
As for Sinitsina and Katsalapov, they won the gold of the team tournament before.
Thus, there are now 18 medals in the piggy bank of the team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), under the flag of which Russian athletes perform: four gold, six silver, and eight bronze.
