The Russian cartoon “BoxBallet” directed by Anton Dyakov is nominated for the Academy Award-2022 in the category “Best Animated Short Film”.
The 94th Academy Awards Ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on March 27. According to the director and member of the American Film Academy, Konstantin Bronzit, the Russian 15-minute animated film will tell there the love story of ballerina Olga and boxer Evgeniy.
“There’s a love triangle. The choreographer also loves the ballerina,” he told.
As Bronzit noted, “BoxBallet” differs from other Russian animated short films in its “adulthood”, which, in his opinion, could be the reason for the project to be shortlisted for the Oscar.
