Russian chess player, Ian Nepomniachtchi, starts the fight with Norwegian, Magnus Carlsen, for the title of world champion. The match will be held in Dubai from November 26 to December 15, 2021, and will consist of 14 parties.

Carlsen is the current world champion. Nepomniachtchi won the right to play in the match for the world chess crown by defeating eight contenders in the tournament. As noted, Nepomniachtchi will play under the flag of the Russian Chess Federation, as WADA has banned the use of Russian tricolour.
It is known that at the children’s level, Nepomniachtchi was considered a stronger and more talented chess player than Carlsen. The Russian beat the Norwegian at the 2002 Under-12 World Championship and the 2003 European Under-14 Championship.
The talented Russian was seriously engaged not only in chess but also became incredibly popular in the virtual worlds of Dota under the nickname Frost Nova. And Carlsen worked with the thirteenth world champion Garry Kasparov and at the end of the noughties rapidly crushed the world super tournaments, gaining a huge rating and becoming the direct heir of Viswanathan Anand.
Nepomniachtchi, in turn, won the strongest open tournament in the world, Aeroflot, performed great at the super tournament in Dortmund, won the Russian Superfinal. At the super-tournament in Wijk aan Zee, eight years later, he met with Carlsen in a duel with classical control. Now, only time will show who gets the title of the world champion.
