Russian private medical networks are ready to start vaccination of foreign citizens against coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports.
It is clarified that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum instructed the government to work out the issue of paid vaccination of foreigners in Russia against COVID-19 by the end of the month.
“The domestic pharmaceutical industry is ready to continue to increase the production of vaccines. That is, we not only fully meet our own needs but we can also provide an opportunity for foreign citizens to come to Russia and get vaccinated here. I know that given the effectiveness of our vaccines, such a request is quite high,” Putin said.
He added that the practice has spread when people from different countries, including businessmen and heads of large companies specially visit Russia to get vaccinated against coronavirus.
“Now this is a question of restrictions on the part of the Moscow Health Department as a supplier of vaccines for us. If these restrictions are lifted or there is another supplier of vaccines, then we are ready to vaccinate foreigners,” the medical director of Invitro-Moscow, Dmitry Kondratyev, said.
In turn, the Head of the Central Directorate of Healthcare of Russian Railways, Elena Zhidkova, assured that Russian Railways clinics will also be ready to receive foreign citizens for vaccination against coronavirus.
“Yes, we are ready to provide this kind of vaccination services. For this we have everything necessary: many years of experience, a wide network of clinics, qualified personnel, vaccination points in our clinics, at railway stations, and in mobile clinical diagnostic trains,” Zhidkova said.
She noted that the company will immediately offer this service as soon as all issues are settled at the legislative level and the regulatory framework for immunizing foreigners is approved.
