The second racket of the world, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, received a wild card (special invitation) to participate in the Gonet Geneva Open tournament in Switzerland.
In addition to Medvedev, the tournament will feature, in particular, the current winner, Norwegian Casper Ruud (No. 7 in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals) and finalist Denis Shapovalov (Canada, 16). Font Geneva Open will be held from May 14 to 21.
As reminded, currently, Medvedev is recovering from hernia surgery. The 26-year-old Russian has 13 titles on his account, including the 2021 US Open Grand Slam tournament.
