Russian parliamentarians were denied visas to participate in the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Warsaw on November 24-26, as the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said.

“We have received an outrageous response from the head of the Polish delegation to the OSCE PA, Ms. Bartus, saying that she sees no opportunity for representatives of Russia and the Republic of Belarus to participate in the autumn meeting of the OSCE PA in Warsaw. She also stated that the admission of the mentioned persons to the autumn session of the OSCE PA in Warsaw would violate the principle of solidarity with Ukraine,” the politician who heads the senatorial part of the delegation said at a meeting of the Federation Council.
This is another blatant violation of the Tbilisi Declaration of the OSCE PA in 2016, Dzhabarov stressed. The document stipulates that Participating States should have unhindered access to all OSCE events. The senator added that the organizers announced “The war in Ukraine — the role of the OSCE and national parliaments in the settlement of the conflict” as the topic of the autumn session.
“I would like to remind our so-called Western partners that Russia was among the founding countries of the OSCE, not to mention our country’s significant contribution to building pan-European security,” Dzhabarov said.
He noted that the Russian delegation sent a notification to all members of the OSCE PA Standing Committee that Moscow opposes any changes to the rules of procedure during the meeting of the standing committee scheduled for November 25, and requests that this statement be considered Russia’s official position when voting on this issue.
