Experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency have found out that in April 2021, residents of Russia bought 195 new electric vehicles, which is 8 times more than in April 2020 (24 cars).
Thus, the Porsche Taycan electric car in April 2021 was sold in the amount of 85 cars. The electric crossover Audi e-Tron is in the second place in the model rating (39 cars purchased). The third place is occupied by the Tesla Model 3 (32 cars), the purchase volume of which has grown 8 times. In addition to them, in April 2021, Russians bought 13 Nissan Leaf electric vehicles, 10 JAC iEV7S, 6 Tesla Model X, 5 Jaguar I-Pace, 2 Tesla Model Y, 1 Chevrolet Bolt, 1 KIA Niro, and 1 Tesla Model S.
In general, since the beginning of the year, 502 new electric cars have been purchased in Russia, which is 6.5 times more than in January-April 2020 (77 cars). It is specified that more than 40 per cent of the market for new electric cars in April fell on Moscow (80 cars) and about 11 per cent on St. Petersburg (21 cars). Also at the top of the rating is the Sverdlovsk Region, where 13 electric vehicles were purchased, the Moscow Region (11 cars), and the Krasnodar Territory (9 cars).
