Russian Embassy in US Expressed Condolences to Relatives of Tornado Victims

The Russian Embassy in the US expressed its deep condolences to the families and friends of those killed as a result of a series of devastating tornadoes in the country. The words of support were published on the diplomatic mission’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

As reported, recent tornadoes have killed more than 80 people in the US. The largest number of victims, 70, was recorded in Kentucky, which received the main blow of the disaster. The power outages caused by the disaster affected more than 200 thousand people in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.

“The Embassy expresses its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed in a series of devastating tornadoes that struck the central regions of the United States.

We wish a speedy recovery to the victims of the disaster,” the Russian diplomats wrote.

Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Joe Biden due to the deaths caused by tornadoes, as seen from the telegram published on the Kremlin official website on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

"Dear Mr President,

accept sincere condolences in the wake of the tragic consequences of the tornadoes that hit Kentucky and a number of other US states.

Russia shares the grief of those who lost their relatives and friends in this disaster. We hope for the recovery of the injured and the speedy overcoming of the consequences of the acts of nature," the telegram says.
