The demand for resorts in Russia since the launch of the third stage of the tourist cashback programme has increased by 153 per cent, which is four times more than in 2019, according to the Level.Travel service, NationNews reports.
The results of the study showed that the tours that were purchased on a promotion account for more than 55 per cent of the sales of Russian resorts. According to Ilya Umansky, the Vice President and Head of the ATOR Domestic Tourism Committee, the tourist cashback programme works in all domestic directions in the country and is valid until the end of June 2021.
The expert noted that the most popular destinations for Russians are the resorts of the Black Sea coast. Tourist traffic was also recorded in new directions, people became interested in the Russian North (Murmansk region, Karelia, Kaliningrad). In his opinion, in the near future, ecological tourism will gain great popularity among Russians too.
