The Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) experts conducted studies as a result of which were determined the best disinfectants to combat coronavirus.
It is noted that COVID-19 maintains its viability for more than 48 hours on various surfaces, in particular steel, linoleum, glass, and plastic. During the study, the disinfecting properties of several dozen different substances were tested, namely chlorine-containing and alcohol-containing disinfectants, disinfectants based on quaternary ammonium compounds and tertiary amines. All of these have been shown to kill the virus quickly and effectively.
It is also specified that ethyl and isopropyl alcohol can destroy up to a million virus particles in 30 seconds, even at a 30% concentration. Chlorine-containing disinfectants have the same properties. The disinfectants based on tertiary and quaternary amines are able to kill the coronavirus on the surface in a few minutes.
