Russian diplomats in foreign countries are advised not to go to the city alone, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“Diplomats live and work in difficult conditions. As you know, there are also attacks, in fact, terrorist acts against our institutions and against their physical security […] Now we do not recommend them to go out into the city alone,” Lavrov said.
The Minister noted that this topic is also being discussed in Western capitals. He said that he was aware that at meetings of Western embassies in Russia, serious concern was also expressed about what was happening with manifestations of Russophobia in Europe.
” We are told that serious concern is expressed at meetings of EU ambassadors in Moscow about what is happening with manifestations of Russophobia in Europe, that this is wrong. That it spoils the image of the European Union. But, I would say, it does not spoil, but additionally makes it the way it is,” the Foreign Minister noted.
According to Lavrov, “the speed, the instantaneity with which this Russophobic wave was launched” suggests that “latent racism” has not gone anywhere from Europe.
“Just as Hitler mobilized his society and other European countries against the Jews […] Now the Russians are the ‘bite’ command […] All conventions have disappeared, political correctness. None of this exists anymore,” Lavrov said.
