Russian Gamers Together With Ukrainian Teammates Got $1 Million Prize in Stockholm [Video]

E-sports leaders from the team Natus Vincere (NaVi) from Russia and Ukraine were recognized champions at the prestigious PGL Major Stockholm 2021 tournament and received $1 million of prize money.

Against the G2 Esports team of rivals in a Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) battle, NaVi won with a score of  2-0 in Sunday’s Grand Final and thus got a major CS:GO title for the first time in the team’s history. Moreover, the guys became the first team ever not to drop a ‘map’ on their way having also whitewashed Team Vitality in the quarterfinal and Gambit Esports in the semifinal.

As specified, the NaVi team features the legendary Ukrainian player Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev, known as the best CS:GO player of all times. Other team members are Valeriy ‘B1T’ Vakhovskiy (also from Ukraine) and the Russians Denis ‘electronic’ Sharipov, Ilya ‘Perfecto’ Zalutskiy, and Kirill ‘Boombl4’ Mikhailov.

An interesting moment was caught on cameras when Mikhailov used the occasion to propose to his girlfriend.

As reminded, the success for the team follows an even bigger prize money triumph for Russian and Ukrainian gamers from ‘Team Spirit’ last month, who received $18.2 million for their win at Dota 2 The International.
