Russian President, Vladimir Putin, signed a law giving the government the right to fix prices for medicines and medical devices in case of a threat of spreading an infectious disease, the official portal of legal information reports.
It is noted that the Cabinet will be able to set the maximum possible retail prices for drugs that are not included in the list of vital. The government will be able to determine the maximum selling prices of producers and allowances for them.
This right will appear in the event of an epidemic, emergency, or if the cost of drugs is unjustifiably increased in several regions by more than 30 per cent within 30 days. The Cabinet will be able to fix the price of medicines for a period not exceeding 90 days.
