Fourteen subjects of the Russian Federation will become pilot regions for the introduction of digital education. These are Altai Territory, the Astrakhan, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Moscow, Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Sakhalin, Tyumen, and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, RG reports with reference to the government official website.
It is noted that from September 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022, as part of the experiment, it is planned to introduce a model of the digital educational environment for general, secondary, and additional professional education. This implies creating the conditions under which students can receive education through digital learning remotely, regardless of where they are. It is specified that schools will have high-speed Internet (at least 100 Mb/s, and at least 50 Mb/s in rural areas), computers, and all the necessary equipment.
