Goal of Russian Hockey Player Ovechkin Recognized Best in History of NHL

The goal of Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin, who plays for the Washington Capitals, was recognized as the best in the history of the National Hockey League, according to ESPN magazine. This was a goal scored against the Phoenix Coyotes in 2006. 

Ovechkin has been playing for Washington since 2005, in 2018 he led the team to the first-ever Stanley Cup victory. The meeting of the legendary goal in 2006 ended with a score of 6:1 in favour of Washington Capitals. Among other Russians whose goals were included in the rating of the magazine, there are Pavel Datsyuk, Pavel Bure, Andrey Svechnikov and Vladimir Tarasenko.
