The hockey players of the Russian Olympic Committee began their performance at the 2022 Games in Beijing with a victory over Switzerland. The result of the meeting was 1:0 (1:0, 0:0, 0:0) in favour of the Russians. Three seconds before the end of the first period, Anton Slepyshev scored the puck.

The Russians are the current Olympic champions. As specified, the 2022 Olympics takes place without the participation of players of the National Hockey League. Besides, due to the sanctions imposed on Russian sports in December 2020, the national team performs at the Olympic Games under the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
