The honoured rescuer of the Russian Federation, an international class rescuer, Dmitry Korinny, told how to avoid a lightning strike, Nation News reports.
The experts noted that during a thunderstorm, lightning passes not into the highest objects, but into the objects with better conductivity to the ground. For example, if there are two trees, one of which has deeper roots in the ground, and the other one has a more superficial root system, it is more likely that the discharge will go along the path of less resistance. The specialist does not recommend standing directly under the trees. Being in the field, you need to find an elevated place, like a ditch, a hole, any kind of depression in the ground, but the safest place is anyway indoors.
